Pain Management Education Site (2021)

Moodle plugin

Project details

Description
This project showcases a bilingual Moodle LMS designed for pain management education, structured in English and Welsh, reflecting the cultural inclusivity and linguistic diversity of the target audience.

The platform is part of a health service, created to support individuals dealing with persistent pain. The LMS is configured to be linear, guiding users to progress through modules in sequence for a comprehensive learning journey. It includes several modules culminating in a final assessment and feedback collection to monitor and enhance user experience.

The custom-designed functionalities extend to an invitation-based registration flow, where admin-initiated tokens ensure a personalised user onboarding experience. Upon successful signup, users are automatically enrolled in courses that align with their language preference, optimising the platform's accessibility and educational reach. The LMS also integrates a course locking mechanism that strategically gates content, fostering a systematic educational progression that aligns with the completion of preceding modules.

A particularly notable feature is simplified and centralised downloading of SCORM packages to facilitate easy offline access to course materials, accommodating users in rural areas with potential internet connectivity challenges.

Key functionalities:

  • Bilingual Interface: Offers courses in both English and Welsh, catering to a diverse user base.

  • Sequential Learning Path: A linear course structure enforces an orderly learning experience.

  • Invitation-Based Registration: Utilises a tokenised system for user registration and course allocation.

  • Automated Course Enrolment: Language preferences trigger enrolment in the corresponding language-specific courses.

  • Course Locking: Ensures users complete each module in order before progressing.

  • SCORM Package Access: Facilitates convenient downloading of SCORM packages from a centralised location, ensuring users can readily access course materials offline, particularly beneficial for those in rural areas with unstable internet connections.
